MTP Cluster Kits Coming Soon!
It’s been a while! We’ve been working hard for the past 5 months to turn MTP Clusters into a finished product instead of a hard to work with DIY system!
Our MTP Clusters are all about modernizing and improving the look of your vehicle, while also functioning as an input for analog and external signals, programmable warnings (example: hot temperature warnings..etc).
Our goal is to make this product compatible with multiple vehicle brands, However our current focus is still on the GM Truck and SUV platform (1995-2013)
Product Launch Info:
Soon we will be releasing our line of “premade digital cluster” kits.
We don’t have an exact date as of yet, but we’re aiming for within the next month or two of as writing this post.
We will possibly do a trial run of early test kits next month. (May 2021)
Pricing:
Launching a product is not cheap, we don’t have an exact price yet. However we are trying to stay as close to the 650 USD price tag we mentioned last year. Keeping in mind the first few units will probably be at a higher premium at around 850 USD.
We plan on having multiple versions of the product, ones without the analog input hardware will cost about 100 USD less of the final pricing.
MTP Cluster Kit Contents:
- 15.6″ Screen (or smaller for different applications) (matte or glossy finish depending on the kit)
- Pre-setup Raspberry Pi 4 Computer with Pre-installed Operating System and MTP Cluster Software (with included $300 software license key)
- OBDII Cable + OBD Y Splitter Cable
- Pre-wired Electronics (Cables, LCD Board, Inverter, Relay, Fuse, Wiring…etc) (Minimum wiring required for non-analog kits)
- Install Hardware (brackets, screws, foam tape..etc) (+Install Instructions)
and if you order the analog supported kit it includes over $100 usd of extra hardware to wire in external inputs (which is a must have for some vehicles)
Keep in mind the install usually requires permanent (but hidden) modification of your dashboard / dashboard chassis.
The included license is a (permanent) 1 time use for your specific vehicle VIN number and the cluster hardware serial number.
Future software updates are included / free.
What’s new:
Updates:
If you’re already running one of our early DIY kits you may have noticed for the past few months we’ve released about zero updates, we were trying to work on new updates but we ran into some major problems with how the structure of the prototype software was running as well as the auto updater malfunctioning due to the way the hardware connects to the internet.
This is fixed in the new versions.
Problems:
So we decided to scrap most of the old software and remake the important parts of it, keeping the good parts, removing the bad parts and improving the overall software by a huge margin, as of writing this the MTP Cluster Software v2.2 currently runs at a smooth 60fps (frames per second).
OBD parameters can’t get updated as fast however we interpolate values and end up with a smooth result with very little delay.
New features and fixes:
MTP Cluster Software v2.2+ includes some of these new and improved features:
- New graphics engine (Smooth 60fps with extra features)
- New operating system (Improves load times..etc)
- Custom OBD2 PIDs (global PIDs and manufacturer specific PIDs)
- Customizable Designs (Design Editor)
and a lot more!
The new software will be released together with the launch of the MTP Cluster Kits, so if you have an existing DIY kit you will be able to upgrade to the new software for free!
